WESTCLIFFE, CO – August 21, 2024

The Town of Westcliffe is thrilled to announce the upcoming completion of the Jess Price Memorial Park renovation project. To commemorate this significant community enhancement, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held on August 23, 2024, at 12pm.

This renovation is a tribute to the park's namesake, former Mayor Jess Price, who served the community from 2002 until his passing in 2009. The improvements include a redesigned paver configuration, new landscaped floral installations, an expanded seating area, and a new gazebo, among other upgrades, all aimed at creating a space of beauty and reflection for the residents of Westcliffe.

The project, which began in April 2024, represents the Town's commitment to enhancing public spaces that honor its rich heritage and community spirit. Jess Price Memorial Park, located at the heart of Main Street, stands as a symbol of Westcliffe’s dedication to creating a shared vision for the town’s future.

The Town would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed their time and input, including the following:

  1. Kathy Blaha
  2. DHM Design
  3. Previous BOT members: Gary Frickell, Cathy Snow, Lori Lund
  4. Current BOT members: Mayor Wenke, Mayor Pro-Tem George Mowry, Art Nordyke, Randy Wilhelm, Bob Fulton, Mark Dembosky, and Chuck Jagow
